Goal of the game: Accurately estimate your carbon footprint to be the player with the lowest environmental impact.

The game consists of 110 everyday action cards, with their CO2 value indicated on the back.

All data comes from the ADEME database and the latest scientific research. It was calculated by engineers from Projet Celsius, the educational and scientific studio specializing in climate issues.

In 45 minutes of gameplay, your carbon footprint will hold no more secrets for you, and you'll have had a good time. Both fun and educational, the Carboniq game offers a variety of uses to address the climate emergency in a playful and collective way.

Carboniq Game Rules

The game unfolds in 3 phases:

PHASE 1 - Compose your carbon year
Using the annual cards, distinguished by a colored band, each player must re-compose the carbon year that they believe has the least impact. This will constitute their base carbon footprint. Be careful, this will evolve during phase two!

PHASE 2 - Reduce your carbon impact by best estimating the cards in play
To improve their environmental footprint, players will try to win the cards in play by best estimating the CO2 impact of these cards. The player who is closest to the value inscribed on the back of the card can choose to integrate this card into their footprint if they believe it will decrease their carbon impact. If they wish, they can offer the card to one of their game companions to increase their footprint or simply be nice.

PHASE 3 - Time for the assessment
Only the top card of a pile counts for the final carbon footprint: it replaces the card below it. Each player flips over the top card of each of the piles for their year and adds up the number of clouds. The player with the lowest carbon impact wins.
